Additives to the herbicide mixture

Ensure correct viscous properties for droplet formation

The system's placement of individual droplets depends on the liquid properties of the spray mixture in the system. Both the surface tension and viscosity of the liquid affect how well individual droplets form from the nozzles and how effectively the droplets spread over the weeds.

Mixing 1 part Finalsan with 4 to 5 parts water provides very good liquid properties. In cultures where this is approved, we recommend using this as a base for the spray mixture. In cultures where Finalsan is not applicable, you need to achieve these liquid properties in other ways.

An example of this is BioWet. Adding 2 to 3 ml of BioWet per liter of spray mixture will provide good liquid properties. In areas with hard water (high calcium content), we recommend adding a water softening agent to prevent the spray mixture from reacting with the hard water. Finalsan is particularly susceptible to hard water and will form threads that clog the filters in the system if water hardness is not addressed. We have had good experiences with PhytoGreen®-pH Total.
