This article describes both quick cleaning of the herbicide system, and a complete cleaning procedure
To prevent issues with the spray system, it is essential to clean the system and filters properly. The most common causes of nozzle damage are:
- Leaving herbicide in the system while the machine is not in use.
- Improper filter handling.
There are two washing procedures for cleaning the internal system:
- Quick Rinse – for flushing the nozzles when stopping the machine without emptying the tank.
- Complete Cleaning – for washing the entire system when changing herbicide, emptying the tank, or preparing the machine for storage.
Cleaning of Filters
Suction Filter
- Open the filter housing.
- Remove the filter and magnet.
- Wash the filter thoroughly with clean water.
- Reassemble the filter and housing.
High-Pressure Filters (on spray units)
- Unplug the hoses if there is liquid remaining in the system.
- Open the filter housing carefully.
- Ensure the hose connection area does not get contaminated with sand or dirt.
- Wash both the filter and the cup thoroughly.
Note: It is very important to wash the cup as well as the filter.
Quick Rinse Procedure
Use this procedure for short-term rinsing when pausing operation.
1. In the Kilter Remote app, open the Cleanup Menu.
2. Select and follow the steps for the “QUICK” procedure.
3. Ensure that all filters are clean and not clogged, as blockages will reduce rinse effectiveness.

Complete Cleaning Procedure
Use this procedure for thorough system cleaning before changing herbicide or storing the machine.
- In the Kilter Remote app, select the “FULL” procedure from the Cleanup Menu.
- Follow the listed steps carefully to ensure the entire system is washed and emptied.
