How does the AX-1 obtain the guidance paths for autonomous operations?

There are multiple ways to obtain guidance paths for autonomous operations with the AX-1, each with varying levels of manual assistance required for set-up.

1.     GNSS systems from tractor or ‘Bed Forming Machine’, if available [Recommended]

2.1. “Route Editor", using headlines and AB lines, less manual set-up

2.2. “Route Editor", using segments and waypoints, more manual set-up

In practice:

1.    With pre-existing data from GNSS systems obtained from tractors and bed forming machines, this can quickly be implemented to set up the AX-1`s guidance paths. The data is uploaded to Kilter Farm, where the routes are then created.

2.1. The guidance paths can be created and adjusted in the Kilter Remote app, under the “Route editor”. The amount of manual operation needed before operating autonomously depends on the complexity and variation of the field. If the field is symmetrical with mostly straight lines, the manual operation can be completed from driving just a single row (AB line).

2.2. For more complex routes with little to no pre-existing data, several waypoints along the row are needed. The complete line of a row, consisting of multiple waypoints, then becomes a segment. If several rows contain large variations, multiple segments might need to be manually created before the route can be finalized. This is rare occurrence, don't hesitate contact support if assistance is required.

More details about the creation of routes, segments, waypoints, headlines, and AB lines are found in the route editor guide.
