Phone or tablet keeps disconnecting from the robot
There are a couple of common settings on phones and tablets that can interfere with the connection to the AX-1. The steps below are a good place to start if you are experiencing repeated disconnections.
1. Disable Wi-Fi Assist
Your phone may be automatically switching away from the AX-1's Wi-Fi network because it detects that it has no internet access. This is a built-in feature designed to keep you connected to the internet, but it interferes with Kilter Remote, which communicates with the robot locally over Wi-Fi rather than through the internet.
- iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → Cellular → scroll to the bottom → turn off Wi-Fi Assist
- Android: The setting goes by different names depending on the manufacturer, look for Wi-Fi Assist, Smart Network Switch, or Switch to mobile data automatically in your Wi-Fi or network settings
2. Disable VPN
If a VPN is active on your phone, it can interfere with the local Wi-Fi connection to the robot. Disable any active VPN before using Kilter Remote.
