I'm unable to obtain "RTK fix", what should I do?

RTK Fix (status "4 - Fix") is required before the AX-1 can operate autonomously. If the robot is stuck at "3 - RTK Float", follow these steps in order.

Step 1: Check sky visibility

RTK Float after more than 5 minutes usually means the GPS antenna doesn't have a clear enough view of the sky. Make sure the robot is not positioned under or near trees, buildings, power lines, or other obstructions. Move the robot to a more open area and wait a few minutes to see if the status advances to Fix.

Step 2: Reboot the robot

If the robot has a clear view of the sky but remains in Float, reboot the AX-1. A reboot clears the positioning filters and often helps the receiver converge on a Fix solution.

Step 3: Try a different NTRIP mountpoint

If the issue persists after rebooting, the selected NTRIP mountpoint may not be the best option for your location or setup. The AX-1 supports all major GNSS constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) and RTCM v3.x, choose a mountpoint from your correction service provider that matches as many of these as possible. See "Which NTRIP mountpoint should I use?" for more guidance.
