The boom elevator makes noise when raising and lowering. Should I lubricate it?

Some noise from the boom elevator as it raises and lowers is normal and does not by itself mean the mechanism is faulty.

Do not lubricate the boom elevator mechanism. Do not apply grease, oil, penetrating or spray lubricants (e.g. WD-40), or any other product to the threaded rod or drive. The mechanism is exposed to the environment, so any lubricant attracts dust and soil. This builds up on the threaded rod and makes friction significantly worse within a short time, so lubricant makes the noise and wear worse, not better.

You don't need to switch off the boom controller because of the noise. If the noise is loud, getting worse, or appears together with the on-screen alert about the boom elevator motor current exceeding acceptable limits, contact support@kiltersystems.com or your dealer and, if possible, send a short video with sound.
