Wind protection panels mounting
The wind protection attachment consists of 3 textile panels with an option of adding bolts for added weight, which in some cases improves the wind protection.
The largest panel is the front wind protection which is attached to the front and sides of the robot, forming a wide “U” when viewed from above/below. The two smaller panels are attached to the sides of the spray-boom.
The wind protection does not protect from wind blowing into the rear side of the machine. Having wind protection here would drag it over sprayed area and possibly contaminate crops with herbicide.
Use of the wind protection attachment is observed to improve precision in some wind conditions, but it does not enable precision spraying in all wind conditions. Caution must be observed, and it is recommended to inspect the spraying regularly to establish safe operating conditions or thresholds for spraying in windy conditions.
Front wind protectionUse the large wind protection shown in figure 1. The two centermost holes in the top are used to attach the wind protection in front, the ones remaining on each of the sides are used to attach it on the corresponding side of the robot.

Unscrew the two screws (M6 x 16mm) shown in figure 2, and the equivalent screws on the other side of the robot.
Figure 2 - Unscrew these screws, and the equivalent ones on the other side
Attach the zip tie eye bracket and an M6 washer to the screws and screw back in, as shown in figure 3.

Figure 3 - Attachment bracket for the wind protection
Attach the large wind protection to the zip tie eye brackets using zip ties. The span across from left to right should be between the two front zip tie eye brackets (not the back). The distance between the two holes/rings in the wind protection is a bit shorter than the span between the two zip tie eye brackets. This is so that the wind protection can be stretched firmly across the span by tightening the two corresponding zip ties.

Spray boom wind protectionUse the two small wind protection panels shown in figure 5, one on each side of the spray boom.

Figure 5 - Small boom wind protection (front- and partial side view, with bolts added for weight).
Figure 6 shows the left side of the boom from below. Remove the screw (M6x16mm) indicated by the red arrow. Two holes with pre-installed nuts have been pre-drilled where the green circles are, otherwise drill the holes using the wind protection as a template.

Figure 6 – Left side of the boom from below
Attach the boom wind protection as shown in figure 7 (this picture is from the right side of the boom). Use an M6 washer in between the wind protection and the screws (M6x16mm). M6 nuts are needed to attach the screws in the forward two holes (green circles in figure 6). Attach the wind protection on both the left and right side.

Optional addition of weight
The wind protection should now look like in figure 8, optionally add bolts and nuts in the lower 5 holes.

Cut to fit crop and field profileThe wind protection is delivered full length and is designed to be cut to fit the crop height and field profile, use a suitable scissor and cut to desired length.
