I'm unable to connect to my AX-1 in Kilter Remote, what should I do?
Work through the steps below in order.
Step 1: Check your Kilter Farm setup
Before you can connect in Kilter Remote, the AX-1 must be registered to your organisation in Kilter Farm. If this hasn't been done yet:
- Create an organisation in Kilter Farm
- Add your AX-1 as equipment under that organisation
Look at this guide if you need step by step assistance.
Once this is set up, your AX-1 will appear in Kilter Remote. Select it and press Connect.
Step 2: Check that the AX-1 is powered on
The robot must be on for a connection to be possible. Make sure the AX-1 is fully started before attempting to connect (detailed guide here).
Step 3: Check your phone's Wi-Fi
Kilter Remote connects to the AX-1 over Wi-Fi. Make sure:
- Wi-Fi is enabled on your phone or tablet
- Your phone is connected to the AX-1's network
Step 4 : Disable Wi-Fi Assist
Some phones automatically switch away from Wi-Fi networks that have limited internet access, which is exactly how the AX-1's network appears. This can prevent or interrupt the connection.
- On Apple devices: turn off Wi-Fi Assist (Settings → Cellular → Wi-Fi Assist)
- On Android devices: the setting may be called Wi-Fi Assist, Smart Network Switch, or similar, check your network or Wi-Fi settings
Step 5: Disable VPN
If a VPN is active on your phone, disable it before using Kilter Remote.
